Workalike is a personalized online service that helps independent architects and design professionals (Freelancers) with remote work opportunities.
It also helps architecture and engineering companies (Employers) to build and scale their design teams quickly and efficiently.
In this short guide, we have summarised the key points about how Workalike works. It is divided between Employer and Freelancer functionality.
In this section, we will explain how the Employer section works on Workalike.
Please click on the appropriate section upon registration:
Fill out the registration form.
After submitting the form, we will contact you to discuss your goals of using the platform and how to better align our services with your needs and requirements.
At that stage, we will also need your approval of our Terms of Service in a legally binding form. We will contact you to help us with that.
At the final stage, our team will create the account for you and email you the login details.
This is what your dashboard will look like at Workalike. Control of your account and activities on our platform take place from here.
Create a new project through the dashboard, and fill out the form with all the required information about your project.
Your project will not be seen by our Freelancers immediately. We will review and contact you in case of any questions. Once approved, the Freelancers working in the same project category will receive a personalized notification.
The Project will also be published in the project database available to all Freelancers.
Freelancers can apply to your project by using Send Proposal function. You will be notified of all new proposals by email as well as be able to see them on your dashboard.
Alternatively, to connect with Freelancers, you can also browse our talent database directly.
You can narrow down your search depending on specialization, software skills, and other criteria.
The detailed profile of the Freelancer looks as follows.
Connecting with a Freelancer only happens through Workalike hosted interviews. Workalike team members will take a part in it to assist and coordinate the process.
You can request an interview in two ways:
1. By requesting an interview directly from the Freelancers profile.
2. By requesting the interview from your dashboard in response to his/her proposal to your Project.

You will receive an email notification for any new Project posted by Employers in your category of specialization (say Architectural design). This is a way to keep you fully updated on opportunities appearing on Workalike.
After clicking on the Find Projects you will be directed to all active Projects on our platform. You can filter them by a number of criteria.
Each Project contains a handy link for you to submit a proposal. Please assess the financial and timing aspects of the work as well as provide any additional information which might help the Employer to review it.
Please note that your proposal will not have legal consequences. Although it is not an encouragement to take it lightly, your proposal only serves as an expression of interest with the final details to be discussed and agreed upon during the interview and contract negotiation stage.
You can see all your proposals on your dashboard and they can be changed or withdrawn if necessary.
Your contact with the Employer will take place after he requests the interview with you. Either after in response to your proposal or after reviewing your profile.
You will receive the email notification for the interview request however the time of the interview will be agreed upon by our team members separately and outside the functionality of the platform.
The interview will be in a form of a video conference and one of our team members will participate there to coordinate the process.
In case of success, the process will progress to contract negotiation, again coordinated by us. Our Terms of Service have a standard form of the Service Contract which we suggest being used. Any variations are permitted if they will stay within boundaries established by the Terms of Service. This process is largely influenced by standards and procedures established by the specific Employer.
